Thank you to everyone at SEBTA. I loved being invited down to Brighton the night before; a beautiful setting in a beautiful hotel over looking the sea; where all learners and college lecturers were able to meet and get to know one another. I felt this really made a difference, put the learners at ease and added to the whole experience. The competition is highly regarded within the beauty industry and such an experience for staff and learners to be a part of. This is the first year we have entered this competition and were fortunate to be selected for the final in Brighton. We were made to feel very welcome and treated to a fabulous meal the night before the competition. We felt like we had won even before the competition had started! SEBTA is a truly professional, inspiring and friendly competition. The case study is an excellent idea as the student can develop and grow in confidence and ability throughout the treatments. The student can also see the improvements over time which cannot be appreciated at college as the assessment process demands only one occasion for competence.

What was really beneficial was the fact that the students did not have to do anything extra to enter the competition, just complete their case study for the facial electrical unit requirement for their Level 3 qualifications. In fact, the students were pleased that it made them focus on it early in the year…. I have already told the new level 3 students all about it and I want as many as possible to enter as it.

SEBTA 2011 LECTURER INFORMATION

For lecturers and colleges, you and your college can bask in the glory of having trained the winning Student of the Year 2011, as well as tangible recognition of this via our SEBTA College Winner Logo and SEBTA College Trophy. Add to this the superb prizes for both the college and the lecturer and entering becomes an obvious choice.

How to Enter
Any colleges wishing to take part in SEBTA 2011 should call Angie or Natalie on 01903 761100 and request an initial application form or email sebta@thecarltongroup.co.uk or click here to submit an online request.

The closing date for this initial request is the end of October 2010.

Once you have expressed your interest in the competition via the form, we will send out your full entry form pack with details of how to apply.

(NB Students should only enter the competition if they will be available for the final, which will be held on Tuesday 21st June 2011 in Brighton.)

Competition Entries
The main body of the entry is a written project (1500min – 3000max words) The SEBTA Face File. This must show and explain 2 facial treatments of combined Galvanic and Direct High Frequency, as well as answers to a series of written questions, plus accompanying images. Any brand of machine may be used.

Please note that these submissions cannot be returned.
